The second season of 'Temptation Villa' will premiere on TV in early August. This time, Annika Kärsten-Hoenig (41) will also be featured. The wife of German acting star Heinz Hoenig (74) speaks in the new issue of 'Bunte' magazine about, among other things, what her husband thinks about it. She also addresses why the participation was important not only for her, but for the family.
With a candor rarely seen, Kärsten-Hoenig reveals that her husband's difficult health situation has depleted their financial reserves. In May 2024, he was admitted to the hospital, had to undergo surgery on his esophagus, and was temporarily placed in an induced coma. Several risky procedures saved Hoenig's life. According to reports, the actor spent a total of 143 days in intensive care and was only able to leave the hospital after months.
The family could really use the prize money from the show, Kärsten-Hoenig explains. 'Despite the wonderful donations and financial support from friends and fans of Heinz, our reserves were completely depleted,' she says. Since they had to bridge the time when Hoenig had no health insurance, she also had to tap into her retirement savings. 'And I'm being completely honest: Of course it's about earning money. That's why I'm grateful that I got the opportunity to earn money for my family,' she says.
Heinz Hoenig Warns and Supports
The actor was in the jungle camp himself before his time in the hospital and therefore warned his wife. 'Anni, watch out, this and that could happen to you. You have to expect that you'll face a huge wave of hate,' he said. Hoenig asked whether his wife was aware of this and whether she could handle it. At the same time, he assured her: 'But whatever decision you make, I'm absolutely behind you!'
According to Kärsten-Hoenig, a good friend took care of her husband and the couple's two young sons during the filming of the reality format. She moved in with the Hoenigs for three weeks and was 'trained' by Kärsten-Hoenig. After all, her friend had to know, for example, which medications the actor receives and also how his artificial nutrition works.
The second season of 'Temptation Villa' will premiere on August 3, 2026 at 8:15 PM on Sat.1 and on Joyn. Verona Pooth will once again host and welcome the participants. The show features celebrities who can win up to 250,000 euros. They have to forgo luxury. While they can give in to temptation, an amount is then deducted from the potential prize money. In addition to Kärsten-Hoenig, Jenny Elvers, Thorsten Legat, Tatjana Gsell and Nicolas Puschmann will be featured in the new episodes.
