Sean 'Diddy' Combs (56) has reportedly been placed in solitary confinement after a fight with a fellow inmate. This was reported by NBC News and the US celebrity portal TMZ, citing insiders. The former music mogul is currently behind bars at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
Sean Combs was found guilty in July 2025 in a high-profile trial in connection with offenses related to the adult entertainment industry; he was acquitted of other charges. The sentence of 50 months in prison was then announced in October 2025.
Fight was quickly brought to an end
According to TMZ, the prison fight in which the 56-year-old is now said to have been involved began after a fellow inmate insulted Sean Combs. Staff members at the facility were allegedly able to quickly end the physical altercation.
Combs' release date is currently scheduled for February 2028, after it was previously set for April of the same year. According to media reports, it is unclear whether the fight will result in him having to remain behind bars longer.
Defense attorneys continue to challenge verdict
Sean 'Diddy' Combs' legal team, meanwhile, continues to challenge his conviction. An appeal was filed in December. In a brief filed in March, the attorneys called the sentence, according to US magazine People, a 'perversion of justice' and demanded the verdict be overturned and their client immediately released - or at least a remand to a lower court and a resentencing.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who was taken into custody in September 2024, also faces numerous civil lawsuits in which the former music star is accused of, among other things, violent intimate misconduct. He denies these allegations against him.
