It would be an absolute coup for series fans, but their 'Baywatch' dreams probably won't come true. Pamela Anderson (59), one of the absolute stars of the original series, likely won't appear in a planned reboot. At least she still hasn't been asked, even though the new episodes are supposed to launch in about half a year.
Anderson was one of the big icons of the '90s. While she also became known through her Playboy shoots, for example, it was primarily the role of C.J. Parker in 'Baywatch' that catapulted her to absolute worldwide fame. Images of the actress in the iconic red swimsuit went around the world. But Anderson left that image behind long ago.

The reboot, which according to Fox is set to launch this coming January, mostly features a new cast. Some of the main roles are taken by Stephen Amell (45), Brooks Nader (29), and Shay Mitchell (39). But some stars from back then are also returning, including Erika Eleniak (56) and David Chokachi (58). Anderson appearing is currently unlikely.
When asked by industry publication 'Deadline' about the revival, the actress explains: "Nobody has reached out to me. I don't know much about it." She knows that at some point they talked to her sons about whether they wanted to be involved in the production, but she believes they didn't come to an agreement. "I'm not sure what exactly happened there, but I wish them all the best," Anderson says.
'Baywatch' icon remembers the original
In the same conversation, Anderson also reminisces about the original series. Alongside David Hasselhoff (74), she was one of the absolute flagships of the production. "It was a great job and I loved going to work at the beach every day. I would have been there anyway," the actress laughs. "I learned a lot during that time, and [the series] gave me worldwide recognition. Everything I've done so far has led me to this point, and that's a blessing."
In general, a return seems out of the question at the moment. Not only has no one contacted Anderson so far, but she also says that a comeback is not an option for her. "But I don't plan to return to 'Baywatch,'" she reveals. If her two sons Brandon (30) and Dylan (28) were involved, she might have considered it, as she hints.
For her, it's now time to "really play with different characters." She doesn't want to just fill up the calendar until the end of the year and has options. She's thinking about returning to theater, for instance. "I want to surprise people. I want to surprise myself," she says. "That's why I'm trying to do things I haven't done in the past."
