Since 2019, musician Gerry Friedle (55), better known by his stage name DJ Ötzi, has hosted the ORF format "Zauberhafte Weihnacht im Land der 'Stillen Nacht'" (Magical Christmas in the Land of 'Silent Night'). But that's now over, as the Austrian broadcaster confirmed to news agency spot on news.
The next edition will see far-reaching changes. Specifically, the statement reads: "Gerry Friedle is no longer available to host the popular show. ORF thanks the successful musician."
Friedle had "successfully and significantly shaped the format in recent years," and they therefore want to "sincerely thank him for years of appreciative and respectful collaboration."
Broadcaster Not Yet Commenting on His Successor
The fact that speculation about his successor is already in full swing is being taken as a positive sign - after all, it demonstrates "the attractiveness of the ORF format." However, they don't want to comment specifically on the rumors yet.
The "Kronen Zeitung" had previously brought up pop star Melissa Naschenweng (36) as a potential successor. As well as host and musician Dominik Glöbl (42), who could be placed alongside her.

Just last year, Lisa-Marie Friedle (23) celebrated her hosting debut on "Zauberhafte Weihnacht" alongside her famous father.
