The Spanish royal family gathered on Tuesday evening for one of their most important summer events: King Felipe VI (58) and Queen Letizia (53) welcomed representatives of Balearic society at the Marivent Palace in Mallorca, together with Queen Sofia (87) as well as Princess Leonor (20) and Infanta Sofía (19).

More than 600 guests from politics, business, culture and media were invited to the reception in the palace gardens, according to Hola! magazine, including the President of the Balearic Government and other high-ranking representatives of the islands.

Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía arrived at the palace gardens together with their grandmother, Queen Sofia (87). Arm in arm, the two sisters accompanied the monarch to the reception. For Leonor and Sofía, it was only their second time attending the traditional event: last year they had welcomed guests at Marivent together with their parents and grandmother for the first time.

Leonor and Sofía opt for colorful summer fashion

While King Felipe VI appeared in a casual blue shirt and dark pants and Queen Letizia wore a simple, cream-colored dress with a striped pattern by Sybilla, it was Leonor and Sofía who attracted the most attention with their colorful outfits.

Queen Sofia also opted for an eye-catching summer look and appeared in a floral ensemble in pink, violet and white tones. The two sisters showed themselves to be perfectly coordinated in fashion - though without wearing identical looks.

Crown Princess Leonor chose a two-piece ensemble by Spanish sustainability brand Thinking Mu. She combined the sleeveless top with the matching long skirt 'Pauline'. The set featured an abstract color scheme of red, orange and yellow tones with blue accents, reminiscent of a summer sunset.

Leonor had already worn the top before: in June, she wore it to attend a Bad Bunny concert in Madrid with her sister. For the Marivent reception, she showed the complete look for the first time.

The princess paired it with gold-colored accessories, including a striking bracelet, several rings and metallic sandals. Her hairstyle also appeared unusually casual: instead of the elegant waves she often wears, Leonor wore voluminous, naturally falling curls that emphasized the summery look.

Sister Sofía appeared in a long dress by Italian label Momonì, with a flowing cut and an artistic pattern in magenta, rosé, bordeaux, cream and blue details. A golden belt with star elements emphasized her waist, while subtle jewelry and metallic flat sandals complemented the colorful look.
