'Tatort' returns from its summer break on September 13 with new episodes. Charlotte Lindholm (Maria Furtwängler) launches the new Sunday crime series season: Das Erste airs her latest case 'Tatort: König in Gelb' at 8:15 p.m.
What the first 'Tatort' after the summer break is about
According to NDR, the crime drama takes the detective to Kleinhude in Lower Saxony, to a so-called dementia village that enables people with dementia to live as normal a daily life as possible. There, the universally beloved resident Mr. König is allegedly a serial killer who murdered seven people - at least that's what Chief Inspector Vogel is convinced of. However, because no one believes him, he asks Charlotte Lindholm for support.
But Vogel also has a secret, just like the management of the dementia village, according to further details about the new 'Tatort' plot: In the course of her investigation, Lindholm herself begins to doubt her memory. But she's not mistaken: there are several suspects here.
Kathrin Ackermann returns to the show
The broadcast date falls on a special day for the lead actress: Maria Furtwängler celebrates her 60th birthday on September 13. Filming for the new NDR 'Tatort: König in Gelb' took place at the beginning of the year in Lower Saxony and Hamburg.
Crime fans can also look forward to a reunion with Kathrin Ackermann (88). After a break of around five years, she returns as Annemarie Lindholm. As she has done several times before, Furtwängler's real-life mother once again plays the mother of her TV character Charlotte Lindholm.
Since the third Lindholm film in 2003, the actress has appeared in 18 episodes, most recently in 2021.
In 'Tatort: König in Gelb,' actors Andreas Lust as Chief Inspector Vogel and Thomas Thieme as Gustav König play the episode's main roles alongside Maria Furtwängler and Kathrin Ackermann. The script and direction are by Alexander Adolph.
