Former jungle camper and TV commentator Jörg Dahlmann (67) has had difficult weeks behind him. After two major surgeries, he reports on Instagram how he is currently doing. While he is slowly on the road to recovery, he is still in the hospital.

In mid-June, Dahlmann publicly announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer again. A tumor was discovered in his liver. In a new video on the social media platform, he once again summarizes what has happened in recent weeks.

Jörg Dahlmann never wants to give up

The commentator starts positively in the short clip, wearing a T-shirt that says 'Never Give Up.' 'Never Give Up, that's our motto,' Dahlmann says. He is now in his third week at the Mainz University Hospital and has 'two major surgeries' behind him.

In a six-hour operation, his liver was split, reports the 67-year-old. Previously, he had explained that his right liver lobe, affected by the tumor, was to be slowly capped off. This was supposed to enlarge the left liver lobe. Within ten days, the left lobe grew by 263 percent, he now reports. 'That is absolute madness,' Dahlmann finds. In the second surgery, the affected liver lobe was then removed as planned.

He is 'still struggling a bit' with the major procedures. 'That doesn't happen overnight,' he reports. Dahlmann also writes: 'Two major surgeries and it's only laboriously going uphill. I feel very, very weak.' However, the carcinoma is 'out of my body' and the treating professor explained that Dahlmann 'had luck in misfortune that the tumor was found before it spread wildly.'

Dahlmann could receive stents

Jörg Dahlmann must be examined again, as his coronary arteries are narrowed, as he publicly reveals in an interview with the 'Bild' newspaper. 'I will now undergo a cardiac catheterization and possibly have stents inserted,' he explains. 'I hope that will make me feel a bit fitter again.' Additionally, one and a half liters of water were pumped out of his lungs. But he is certain he has the worst behind him, Dahlmann is sure.
