Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht (36) continues filming in the Berlin neighborhood. The ZDF sitcom "Späti" is entering its second season - and filming is already underway. According to the broadcaster, the new episodes are scheduled to be completed by August 19.
Fred has made it - at least on paper. In the continuation, Ochsenknecht's character finally owns the convenience store he has dreamed of for so long. But a Späti in a Berlin neighborhood is not a peaceful haven, but rather a constant construction site: money worries, bureaucratic stress, neighborhood disputes and family pressure put Fred's dream to the test.
A chosen family under pressure
According to ZDF, the store functions in the series as more than just a backdrop - it is a meeting point and proving ground for a chosen family that sometimes sticks together, sometimes drifts apart. Gülseren Erkut once again plays Aylin, who navigates between self-realization and the desire for belonging. Alexander Finkenwirth plays the unpredictable Konnopke, who oscillates between overconfidence and genuine existential fear. Zeynep Bozbay portrays Maya, who struggles with intimacy and responsibility. Eva Weißenborn and Falilou Seck are also back.
The second season is told in ten episodes - each one a look at everyday crises that, through the interplay of the characters, grow far beyond the ordinary. The ensemble format remains true to the approach of the first season: it's about "solidarity, failure and the attempt to fight for a home in a city without mercy."
This season features guest appearances by Jan Henrik Stahlberg, Isabel Polack, Merdan Suna Ma and Lucy Gärtner, as well as other surprise guests who have not yet been named.
Proven team behind the camera
Max Rainer and Biko Erki are once again directing. The scripts are written by head writer Patrick Stenzel as well as Duygu Agal, Kilian Lieb, Biko Erki, Kolja Malik, Janna Nandzik, Lena Tusche and Claudia Bach. The second season is produced by btf bildundtonfabrik; Esther Busch, Matthias Murmann and Philipp Käßbohrer serve as producers.
Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht already announced in September 2025 that "Späti" would continue. At the time, the actor even revealed that the series will get a second and a third season.
