US President Donald Trump (80) and Taylor Swift (36) are notoriously not friends. Via the White House's social media channels, attacks are now being launched against the singer and her newlywed husband Travis Kelce (36) in the context of the celebrity wedding of the year.
On large video screens at Madison Square Garden, where the celebration took place, it was announced on Friday evening (local time): "JUST&T MARRIED!". "Just married" means freshly wed. The message was intentionally written with "T&T", presumably to reference the first letters of the happy couple's first names.
White House apparently spreads modified photo
Meanwhile, the White House's official account shared on Instagram, among other platforms, a photo alluding to the wedding. It shows screens in the style of the wedding announcement at Madison Square Garden displaying "Trump is your President". It appears to be a modified image. The Instagram account of the famous arena shares a nearly identical photo with a slightly different crop, showing the aforementioned "JUST&T MARRIED!" lettering twice.
Trump's resentment likely has its origins in the election campaign. Before the most recent US presidential election, Swift had openly supported former Vice President Kamala Harris (61) - Trump's opponent at the time. In September 2024, after a TV debate between the presidential candidates, the singer publicly commented on Instagram, among other things, that AI versions of her were falsely supporting Trump.
This had led her to the decision that she needed to be transparent about whom she was giving her vote to. In the 2024 US presidential election, she was supporting Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. Shortly thereafter, Trump had bluntly declared on his platform Truth Social that he hated Swift: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!"
