Ten years after the separation of Angelina Jolie (51) and Brad Pitt (62), it seems clear which side the six children of the former Hollywood dream couple have taken. Most of the three biological and three adopted children no longer want to carry the last name "Pitt". Just recently, son Maddox and daughter Zahara expressed this in newspaper ads, thereby advancing the legal removal of their father's name. As united as the Brangelina offspring seem to be on this issue, their life plans are taking very different shapes.
Maddox Studies in South Korea
The oldest son Maddox (24) was born on August 5, 2001 in Battambang, Cambodia and adopted by Jolie in 2002, who had gotten to know the country while filming "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider". Two years later, she fell in love on the set of "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" with Pitt, who from then on took on the father role for the boy. At just 15 years old, he worked as an executive producer on Jolie's film "First They Killed My Father". In 2019, Maddox began studying biochemistry at Yonsei University in South Korea. In April 2023, he accompanied his mother to a state banquet at the White House. On Jimmy Fallon's "Tonight Show" in December 2024, Jolie also revealed that Maddox has a passion for flying: "I'm a pilot, and my son Maddox is also training to be a pilot. Actually, he's already a pilot now."
Pax Photographs and Assists
Pax (22) was born on November 29, 2003 in Vietnam and spent his first years in an orphanage. Jolie adopted him in 2007, followed by Pitt's adoption a year later. He rarely appeared in front of the camera, but worked behind the scenes, such as as a set photographer on "First They Killed My Father", assisted in the directing department of Jolie's film "Without Blood" and helped develop her fashion brand Atelier Jolie. Reports about an alleged career as an abstract artist, however, proved to be false. On July 29, 2024, Pax had an accident on an e-bike in Los Angeles and suffered a head injury. A week later, he was able to leave the intensive care unit.
Zahara Completed Studies in Atlanta
Zahara (21) was born on January 8, 2005 in Hawassa, Ethiopia and was adopted at the age of seven months. In 2019, she launched the jewelry line "Zahara Collection" together with jeweler Robert Procop, the proceeds of which benefited a women's and children's shelter in Los Angeles. Since August 2022, Zahara studied psychology and education at Spelman College in Atlanta, and in November 2023 she joined a sorority there. She earned her degree on May 17, 2026, and at the ceremony was already introduced only as "Zahara Marley Jolie". The young woman is also active in her mother's humanitarian work, such as in meetings with U.S. lawmakers in Washington in February 2022.
Shiloh Dances in Los Angeles
Shiloh (20) was born on May 27, 2006 in Swakopmund, Namibia. She is the first biological child of Jolie and Pitt. The 20-year-old, who has frequently accompanied her mother to appearances, has played in several films of her famous parents, such as the younger version of Caroline in Pitt's film "Der seltsame Fall des Benjamin Button". She also lent her voice to "Kung Fu Panda 3". She now spends a large part of her free time dancing and trains at the Millennium Dance Complex, a prestigious studio in Los Angeles. Shiloh was the first to permanently banish "Pitt": In August 2024, at age 18, Shiloh officially changed her last name from Jolie-Pitt to Jolie.
Knox Does Martial Arts
Knox (18) was born on July 12, 2008 in Nice, France, one minute before his twin sister Vivienne. He was named after Pitt's grandfather Hal Knox Hillhouse. Knox grew up largely away from the cameras. He made one of his few public appearances as the voice of the character Ku Ku in "Kung Fu Panda 3", and also accompanied his mother to the premiere of the Marvel film "Eternals". In his free time, he practices the martial art Muay Thai and also competes in competitions. In June, he just completed his high school diploma at the "Fusion Academy" in Los Angeles. He too is reportedly renouncing his father's name: On his high school diploma, according to "Page Six", only "Knox Jolie" appeared.
Vivienne Is Enthusiastic About Theater
Knox's twin sister Vivienne (18) bears Marcheline as her middle name - a tribute to Angelina Jolie's mother, actress Marcheline Bertrand. In 2014, she appeared in front of the camera for "Maleficent" and played the young version of the character Aurora. But her greatest passion is theater. For Jolie's Broadway production of the musical "The Outsiders", Vivienne, who also graduated from high school in June, worked as a volunteer assistant. In the program, she was listed as "Vivienne Jolie". "The Outsiders" won four Tony Awards in June 2024, including the award for best musical.
New Life for Angelina Jolie in Cambodia?
On July 12, she was able to celebrate her 18th birthday like Knox. This milestone is particularly important for Angelina Jolie: With the youngest children coming of age, the actress could finally put her plans to move to Cambodia into action. Until now, she had to stay in Los Angeles because Brad Pitt had visitation rights. It remains to be seen whether some of her sons or daughters will move with her to the Asian country where son Maddox was born.
