Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum (48) has voiced sharp criticism of her treatment following a health incident. While paying at a supermarket, she "almost fainted", the actress reported on her Instagram account, and then described how the medical care was anything but satisfactory.
She criticizes unfriendliness and lack of knowledge
Her weekend had been "very unusual", wrote the former "Lindenstraße" actress. She had almost fainted, suddenly struggled with high blood pressure, and also encountered unfriendly paramedics. On Monday morning, she finally ended up at a doctor's office "who absolutely has no clue". Her sobering conclusion: "Thanks for nothing!"
She only managed to get an appointment with a specialist who is knowledgeable about the health effects of menopause for August. "I'm really curious!", Siemoneit-Barum added.
In an image accompanying her post, the actress puts the incident into a broader context: "Reality at almost 50: You feel like 19, but suddenly you're dealing with issues like high blood pressure, pre-menopause, and all the related special effects."
In a supplementary story, the 48-year-old announced that she will talk more extensively about her experiences in the next "Linsenstraße" podcast, which will be released on Thursday. She has been suffering from a very severe infection for more than a week and is still ill. Over the weekend, "special effects" were added, which is why she called the emergency doctor. At the same time, Siemoneit-Barum gave the all-clear: "everything is okay". "Everything will be fine again."
From the circus ring to "Lindenstraße"
Rebecca Siemoneit-Barum became known as "Iffi" Zenker in the ARD series "Lindenstraße", which she helped shape for almost three decades. She comes from a circus family and performed in the ring as a child. Later, she managed Circus Barum, founded companies, and appeared in musicals. In 2015, she participated in the RTL "Dschungelcamp".
She also remains present outside of acting. Since 2024, she has been hosting the podcast "Linsenstraße". In December 2026, she will also be on stage as a host and singer together with Anthony Bauer and his orchestra for a Christmas revue at the OVAG Theater Dolce in Bad Nauheim.
