Giovanni Zarrella (48) can present prominent names for his summer show: ZDF has announced the first guests of the special "Giovanni Zarrella Show" episode. The singer will welcome Kerstin Ott, Semino Rossi and Vanessa Mai as well as other national and international schlager and pop stars on stage, as can be seen from the announcement. As usual, Chris Papendieck and his band will also be part of the show.
ZDF promises a three-hour "summer party". The show will feature "music, summer feeling and great emotions with stars from schlager, pop and international entertainment".
Outdoors for the first time
For this episode, Zarrella is choosing an unfamiliar setting: For the first time, he is taking his show to the "Fernsehgarten" grounds on the Mainzer Lerchenberg. The format is also new - for the first time, the show will take place as an open-air event and not in a studio hall as usual.
According to the ZDF ticket service, the show will be recorded on August 8 at 7:30 PM. Already the evening before, on August 7, there will be a public dress rehearsal - another premiere, as fans will be able to experience the TV show in the making for the first time. According to ZDF, advance ticket sales start on June 29 at 10 AM, with Bavaria Entertainment as the organizer.
The "Fernsehgarten" takes a break
The fact that Zarrella is taking over the familiar territory apparently has consequences for the established format. Andrea Kiewel (61), who recently caused a stir with a pool jump in the "Fernsehgarten", will not be on stage that weekend. On the Sunday after the recording, August 9, the "Fernsehgarten" will not air on ZDF.
Giovanni Zarrella is very familiar with the venue: He has been a guest there several times in the past. Now he is using the Mainzer Lerchenberg for the first time with his own format.
