An attack at the Christopher Street Day in Berlin on Saturday evening has caused great consternation. A suspect allegedly drove a car into a crowd on the edge of the event. Federal Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt (56) stated on Sunday during a statement that authorities currently assume it was an "Islamist terror attack." At least one person was killed according to the current status, 29 people were injured or seriously injured. A 21-year-old suspect is still at large.

ZDF has announced that today, July 26, at 7:10 p.m., directly following the "heute" news, it will show a "ZDF spezial" on the topic "Attack on CSD - Berlin in Shock." According to the program schedule, the broadcast will last 15 minutes. Further details about the special broadcast are not yet known.
Das Erste will show a 15-minute "Brennpunkt" at 8:15 p.m. titled "Terror Attack on CSD - Mourning in Berlin." Sascha Hingst (54) will moderate the special broadcast. According to an announcement, the following questions will be addressed, among others: "How could the suspect, known to police, slip through the cracks? And how does the queer community, how do we as a society deal with the attack?" It has been requested that Dobrindt comment on the current status of the investigation during the broadcast. ARD terrorism expert Michael Götschenberg will address possible motives behind the act.
Also at 8:15 p.m., the private broadcaster RTL will show "RTL Aktuell Spezial: Deadly Attack on CSD." For the ten-minute special broadcast, they plan to switch to reporters and assess the security situation with experts.
Sat.1 will broadcast a ":newstime-Spezial" following its regular ":newstime" at 8:12 p.m., which will cover current developments, background information, and reactions. The broadcast will "address the latest information about the incident and the ongoing investigation," according to an announcement on Instagram.
