In the murder case involving US singer D4vd (real name David Anthony Burke, 21), new incriminating details have emerged during a court hearing. Forensic technicians testified according to media reports that potential blood traces were detected in his former house in the Hollywood Hills - including on a green tarp, black rubber mats, and an inflatable pool. The traces were not visible to the naked eye and are currently considered only preliminary indications.
The hearing is intended to determine whether sufficient evidence exists for a trial against the 21-year-old. Burke is charged with murder, unlawful relations with a minor child, and mutilation of a corpse. He denies all allegations and pleads not guilty.
The prosecution accuses the musician of stabbing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez in his house in order to keep their relationship secret and protect his rising career. The girl's remains were discovered last year in a Tesla registered to Burke.
Investigators also reported in court about cuts in the rubber mats in the garage as well as damage to an inflatable pool. Two chainsaws that were also seized showed no potential blood traces, however.
The car also played a central role in the hearing. According to a forensic technician, the Tesla smelled strongly of decomposition despite multiple air fresheners. Insects as well as potential blood traces were also discovered in the vehicle. Burke's defense emphasized, however, that the tests only provided a suspicion of blood and did not constitute definitive proof.
D4vd faces life imprisonment or even death penalty
Additionally, the prosecution presented information about the musician's finances. According to this, Burke received payments totaling more than 7.2 million US dollars between 2022 and 2025 as part of his record deal with Interscope Records. The prosecution sees this as a possible motive, since public knowledge of the alleged relationship with the minor could have endangered his career.
The multi-day hearing continues. In the event of a murder conviction, Burke faces life imprisonment without parole or - depending on the prosecution's decision - even the death penalty.
