Fans of the cult series "Scrubs" can look forward to old, familiar faces: Several surprises are planned for the second season of the reboot. Lead actor Zach Braff (51) announced this at the premiere of "Clean Hands" during the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in conversation with "People". "The second season of the 'Scrubs' revival is going to be even better than the first", he said when asked if he could reveal anything about the next season.

"I feel like we all learned so much producing the first season. We figured out what the audience really enjoyed. We hit the right tone and many more guest stars will be returning for the fans. I can already reveal that. Or rather: We're currently bringing back many of their favorite stars", Braff emphasized.

Successful Revival

The first season of the "Scrubs" reboot comprised nine episodes and aired from February 25 to April 15. Numerous familiar faces returned for the revival, including Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke (49), and Donald Faison (51). Other actors from the original series also participated, such as John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Christa Miller, Neil Flynn, Phill Lewis, and Robert Maschio, who appeared in guest or supporting roles.

In terms of content, the reboot continued the story of the original series, which ended in 2010. The format was also well received by audiences: According to Disney, the premiere episode recorded around eleven million viewers across all platforms within 35 days.

Second Season Expected to Arrive This Year

Series creator Bill Lawrence (57) also returned for the reboot, and together with Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer, they were responsible for the creative reimagining. However, the three lead actors Braff, Faison, and Chalke also served as executive producers.

German viewers can stream the revival on Disney+. Season two is scheduled to be released in fall 2026, though an exact start date has not yet been set.
