In season eight of "Temptation Island" (RTL+), five couples once again faced what is arguably the toughest loyalty test on reality TV. Host Janin Ullmann (44), who accompanied the couples on their journey, addressed the crucial question at the reunion: How did things continue for the candidates after the relationship experiment?
For Charleen (21) and Etienne (22) from Düsseldorf, the loyalty test was over quickly. Charleen ended the experiment prematurely, citing Etienne's verbal misconduct as the reason. At the reunion, he admitted to having "too big a mouth" on the show - "especially when I had been drinking". He had learned from that, he emphasized, and he loves Charleen more than anything. While he had called and texted with temptress Sabrina after the show, nothing more had happened. Etienne is still together with Charleen. "That won't change either, she is my absolute dream woman", he declared.
Relationship "on trial"
Loucia (23) from Hamburg had gone to "Temptation Island" with a clear wish: She wanted to be able to fully trust Dominik (26) again afterwards. The now-divorced Dominik made it through the show without any major missteps. However, after filming, he had continued contact with temptress Anika and even talked to her about his relationship with Loucia - without her knowledge. Dominik assured Ullmann in their conversation that he wanted to improve. He is "currently showing Loucia enough that I am the right partner by her side". Loucia herself sees things more cautiously. Currently, the two are "a couple on trial", she explained. Dominik first has to prove to her how serious he really is.
Mistrust and control were the biggest issues for Laura (25) and Momo (35) from Paderborn and Göttingen before "Temptation Island". After Momo showed himself in a less than favorable light in the villa, particularly with spicy statements, Laura declared herself single at the final bonfire. How did things continue for the two after the failed relationship experiment? Momo describes his statements about his intimate life in retrospect as "awkward and embarrassing" and shows remorse. "We are still not together", Laura emphasized. But they are in good contact. "We've talked things out. We'll see whether something comes of it again or not."
Melina (22) and Jonathan (24) from Dubai both engaged with the experiment. Melina spent a lot of time with tempter Kev during the show, while Jonathan grew closer to temptress Melina. Even after filming, both maintained contact with their respective temptations. After "Temptation Island", the couple went through a "difficult time", Melina reported. That's why she initially broke up with Jonathan. "In retrospect, it was a knee-jerk reaction. We should have talked about some things again", she admitted. Later, the two found their way back to each other: They got to know each other anew and are now a couple again.
For the replacement couple Lisa (24) and Marcel (25) from Frankfurt, one scene in particular stuck out: Lisa received a shot from the mouth of a tempter. "Marcel was still very angry with me afterwards. It took a long time to straighten that out again", explained Lisa, who appeared at the reunion alone. To convince Marcel of her love, she got a second tattoo and even wrote a song, among other things. "I have put Marcel first in recent months", she said. By now, the relationship is more solid than ever: "We are currently in a stable relationship, it has never been this stable. 'Temptation Island' made us strong."
