Diego Pooth (22) is back in his old hometown. The son of Verona (58) and Franjo Pooth (56) has left Berlin and is living in Meerbusch near Düsseldorf again. He grew up in the city on the Rhine. The fact that the move happened so quickly apparently even surprised his mother.

On Instagram, the host made no secret of her astonishment. "Suddenly he was standing there - and I thought, this can't be happening", she described in a story. Shortly after, she provided the explanation: "The biggest news: Diego has moved to Meerbusch. Out of Berlin. I don't even know how that could happen."

Diego himself also documented the move for his followers. Alongside photos of a fully loaded moving truck, he wrote: "Can't believe how fast and spontaneous this move was." In the pictures, furniture, suitcases, and numerous boxes are piled up in a moving truck.

Fresh Start with Girlfriend and Dog

Diego didn't have to carry the boxes alone. As the "Villa der Versuchung" host reported, her son arrived in Meerbusch together with his girlfriend Louisa Büscher (23) and her dog Daisy. "With a huge moving truck and Louisa in tow and Daisy", the 58-year-old said.

The move doesn't change Diego's professional plans. He had moved to Berlin in early 2024 after ending his golf career in Florida. In Germany, he founded a startup for dietary supplements and began studying product management at a private university. He wants to stick with that. "Of course he continues studying. I'm curious, but I'm incredibly happy", his mother explained.

Return to a Familiar Place

Diego spent his childhood and youth in Meerbusch. Just in June, his parents had sold their longtime villa in the city. The family had already relocated their main residence to Dubai in 2025, where Diego's younger brother Rocco (15) attends an international school. Father Franjo has been commuting between Düsseldorf and the desert metropolis ever since.

Verona is visibly pleased that her eldest son is now living in the old neighborhood again. "That means every time I come back here, I have my whole family around me. That's a dream come true, of course. I'm totally thrilled", she said.

Diego has not yet revealed why he left Berlin so suddenly. However, there are plenty of reasons in favor of North Rhine-Westphalia. His grandmother Elke, with whom he has a particularly close relationship, lives in the region. And girlfriend Louisa is also from Düsseldorf and works in NRW.

Between Moving and the Spotlight

The move comes at a time when Diego is present on television. On July 8, 2026, he walked the red carpet at the preview event for the reality series "Born Famous" at Hamburg's Astor Cinema, together with Gloria-Sophie Burkandt (27), Summer Terenzi (20), and Josefine Scholl (18), and without their famous parents. The four want to make a name for themselves with the format and show what it feels like to grow up in the spotlight.

In addition to the "Let's Dance" winner, the series also features the famous parents, including Franjo and Verona Pooth, Markus Söder (59), Sarah Connor (46), and Mehmet Scholl (55). "Born Famous" will air on ProSieben and Joyn starting July 16, 2026 at 8:15 PM.
