Sofía Vergara celebrated her 54th birthday in Italy. One day after the actual special day on July 10, the actress shared several photos on Instagram showing her aboard a yacht. In one of the photos, the "Modern Family" star poses in a bright red two-piece, paired with a delicate diamond necklace and gold bangles. The sea and the Italian coast can be seen in the background.

"So happy about all the love from you yesterday! It was the best birthday ever", Vergara wrote with the picture, jokingly thanking Italy for her "300 cakes". Her conclusion about the new year of life was relaxed: "54 is a good number."

Sparklers, Tambourines and Lots of Cake

The "America's Got Talent" judge provided further insights in her Instagram stories. Among other things, a speedboat can be seen with a flag bearing the words "Happy Birthday" and her face fluttering on it. When she panned the camera, her loved ones came into view, singing and drumming on tambourines.

In a red halter dress, Vergara also cut into a cake topped with fruit. It wasn't just one cake that evening: In a separate post, the actress showed a round cake featuring her own face, decorated with sparklers and red candles. Her son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara (34) also celebrated by her side, holding up a tambourine with his mother's image on it.

Vergara documented with visible delight how many cakes came together that evening. In a video, several staff members carry a whole bunch of cakes to her table, dancing while holding sparklers in their hands. "I already know what to do", the actress joked as a waiter lit the candles in front of her. "15 cakes later", she commented on the clip.

From Doubt to Feeling Good

Vergara has spoken openly about aging in the past. In the "Most Beautiful" issue of the US magazine "People" from 2024, she said that her view of entering her 50s wasn't good at first, but has since changed.

"I thought, this is old, that's it. And now I feel great. I know I don't look the same anymore", she said at the time. But there's one step she'll probably never take: "I don't think I'll ever be the woman who has the courage to wear completely white hair."
