The Royal Family celebrated Garter Day on Monday. Princess Kate (44) also appeared at the Order of the Garter service at Windsor Castle. For this occasion, the Princess of Wales chose a piece of jewelry with special significance: She wore the diamond earrings that she had already worn at her wedding to Prince William (43) in 2011. The Prince and Princess of Wales celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary just this past April.

Gift from Her Parents

As the US magazine "InStyle" recalled, the custom-made earrings are from British jeweler Robinson & Pelham and were a gift from Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton to the bride. Their design is inspired by the Middleton family coat of arms: It features an oak leaf stud with an acorn detail, followed by a pear-shaped drop. The Princess has worn the jewelry pieces multiple times since the wedding, including on Easter Sunday 2019 and at a garden party at Buckingham Palace last May.

Trending Color Butter Yellow

While the earrings connected to the past, Kate embraced a current fashion trend with the rest of her look on Monday. She wore a tailored coat dress by designer Patrick McDowell in the currently popular color butter yellow. The single-breasted, fitted coat featured fabric buttons and a subtle floral brocade pattern. The Princess paired it with a matching wide-brimmed hat by Jane Taylor, nude-colored pumps by Gianvito Rossi, and a butter yellow clutch. The mother of three wore her hair in a half-updo.
