The Norwegian junior royals are traveling to the World Cup in the USA once again: Princess Ingrid Alexandra (22) and Prince Sverre Magnus (20) will be present at the round of 16 match between Norway and Brazil on July 5 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. "NRK" reports this, among others, citing the Royal House's calendar.
This is already the second visit by the children of Crown Prince Haakon (52) and Crown Princess Mette-Marit (52) to the USA within a short period of time. The two were also present at the group match between Norway and Senegal on June 22. During this first trip to the World Championship, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus also visited a football school in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. After a tour of the facility, they did several exercises with the young participants, dribbled the football across the grass, posed with the children, and also sat down next to them for the famous Norwegian rowing choreography.
Mette-Marit still needs to recover from her surgery
For a long time, there was uncertainty about whether any members of the Royal Family would come to America to cheer on Norway at the World Cup. Crown Princess Mette-Marit's health condition had further deteriorated due to her pulmonary fibrosis. Only after a successful lung transplant was it announced that the Crown Prince couple's children would travel to the USA. "The Crown Princess is happy that it is possible for the Princess and the Prince to represent the Royal House on this major occasion", the court announced before the first trip.
Mette-Marit continues to recover from her procedure in the meantime. Like all other patients after a transplant, the Crown Princess will remain at Rikshospitalet for several more weeks, it was announced in mid-June when the Royal House announced the successful surgery.
