Princess Isabella of Denmark (19) has reached an important milestone: The daughter of King Frederik X (58) and Queen Mary (54) graduated on Tuesday (June 23). Around 1 p.m., she received the traditional white student cap at Øregård Gymnasium in the Copenhagen suburb of Hellerup - thus completing three years of schooling at the very same school where her father once graduated. King Frederik had completed his exams at Øregård Gymnasium in 1986.

After her final exam, the princess was greeted by her family, who had gathered in front of the school to celebrate with her. Her older brother, Crown Prince Christian (20), played a special role: He placed the traditional graduation cap on his younger sister's head. Christian himself had graduated from the nearby Ordrup Gymnasium last year.

Congratulations from the Royal House

The Danish Royal House also published photos of the princess's big day on its official channels. The message read: The entire Royal Family gathered at Øregård Gymnasium to celebrate Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella, who graduated today. The Royal House further explained that the princess can now leave her school days behind and soon begin a new chapter. After the summer vacation, she will begin her military service with the Guard Hussar Regiment in Slagelse.

The newly graduated student herself appeared relieved and proud when speaking to the press. It's fantastic to finally be standing here, after three years at Øregård Gymnasium, and I really enjoyed those three years very much. I'm very happy with how the exams went. I'm super happy and proud of myself, she said according to the Danish broadcasting corporation DR.

The graduation will initially be celebrated with family. She also wants to visit some of her friends who are also graduating from high school. In the coming days, Isabella, like many other graduates, will participate in Denmark's traditional graduation period, which features the characteristic student cap. On June 26, the princess will receive her diploma at the official graduation ceremony at Øregård Gymnasium.

Military Service in Slagelse Awaits

After the summer, the next challenge already awaits. The 19-year-old will begin her military service with the Guard Hussar Regiment in Slagelse and will be among the first conscripts to complete the new eleven-month service. Before starting her training, Isabella wants to enjoy her free time: She looks forward to spending the summer with her family as well as her current and future fellow graduates.

The princess also looks forward to the upcoming military service with anticipation. She hopes to develop personally and push herself to her limits. At the same time, she is aware that the eleven months will be a major challenge - but the experience will be super exciting and could bring her a lot. With her decision, Isabella is also following in her brother's footsteps: Crown Prince Christian also completed his military service with the Guard Hussar Regiment in Slagelse.
