Olivia Rodrigo (23) has announced her own festival. What makes it special: The lineup of the Daisy Chain Fields consists exclusively of female musicians and bands with female singers.

In addition to Rodrigo, artists such as Chappell Roan, Doechii, and Mitski will take the stage. Bands like Garbage, The Breeders, Bikini Kill, and the girl group Katseye will also perform. The lineup is rounded out by special guests including Stevie Nicks, Sarah McLachlan, and Karen O. The festival is scheduled for August 29, 2026, at the Great Park in Irvine, California.

Rodrigo told her Instagram followers about her plans: "I genuinely have never been more excited to tell you all some news. I've been dreaming of putting on this festival for years, and I'm so beyond thrilled that it's finally coming true!" Music fans can expect an "all-female lineup" featuring some of her role models and friends.

"I firmly believe that joy, community, and creativity can be driving forces for meaningful change, and I hope that this festival will be exactly that", she added. According to her, the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit charitable organizations that support women and girls.

Not the first festival with an all-female lineup

The Daisy Chain Fields is inspired by Lilith Fair. The festival series, which was launched in the 1990s by singer Sarah McLachlan, also focused on female singers and women-led bands. At that time, women were significantly underrepresented at many festivals and on the radio, Rodrigo explained in an interview with "Pitchfork". Lilith Fair deliberately counteracted this trend.

Today, however, Rodrigo has the impression that such political topics are once again receiving less attention in the entertainment industry. "Around 2020, it was totally popular and cool for celebrities to talk about politics, but that's no longer the case. That's no longer well received", the singer said. With her own festival, she wants to offer something positive in response to the "cruelty in the world".
