The new "X-Men" team at Marvel Studios appears to be taking further shape. British actor Kit Connor (22) has reportedly been cast in the role of the mutant Cyclops. This has been reported by trade publications "Variety" and "Deadline". However, the casting has not yet been officially confirmed.
Netflix Star Reportedly Gets the Role
"X-Men" director Jake Schreier (44) and Marvel boss Kevin Feige (53) reportedly reviewed several candidates for the prominent role. According to "Deadline", the decision was made last week. Just a few days ago, it was reported that Samara Weaving (34) is set to become the mutant Emma Frost. This has also not been officially confirmed yet. Inquiries about the possible castings have so far remained unanswered.
Connor is best known for the Netflix series "Heartstopper". He also starred in the intense war film "Warfare".
Mutant Comeback in "Avengers: Doomsday"
Before the relative newcomer becomes the new actor portraying "X-Men" leader Cyclops, the old guard of mutants will receive one more major appearance. In December 2026, stars like Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Rebecca Romijn and James Marsden will be back as Magneto, Professor X, Mystique and Cyclops in "Avengers: Doomsday". They will once again play the characters they portrayed in the "X-Men" films of the 2000s.
