A remake of 'Highlander' is in the starting blocks. Former 'Superman' actor Henry Cavill (43) becomes the immortal warrior. 'John Wick' director Chad Stahelski (57) is directing. 'Gladiator' star Russell Crowe (62) also takes on a significant role in the reboot film. And he has now shown what impressive muscles he brought to the shoot of the fantasy film.
Biceps Worthy of an Immortal
Crowe posted photos on Instagram showing him alongside wrestling superstar Drew McIntyre (41). The Scottish giant is also appearing in the 'Highlander' remake. McIntyre and Crowe also apparently spent time together in a gym lifting weights. Both show off their biceps on Instagram.
'At the gym with Drew McIntyre. A great guy. A real man of stature. We're just finishing up filming 'The Last Druid.' We've been shooting in Spain since May,' Crowe writes alongside the two pictures of the upper arm muscles of both men.
Russell Crowe Raves About 'Long, Grueling Days'
For the upcoming historical action film 'The Last Druid,' Crowe was once again in front of the camera with McIntyre. The filming took place after the 'Highlander' shoot. The latter is already completed.
Oscar winner Crowe continues to rave in his post about filming 'The Last Druid': 'The long, grueling days in the beautiful Spanish sunshine were definitely a great motivator. As I always say: It's step by step. Consistency is your friend.'
In 'Highlander,' Crowe takes on the role of Juan Sánchez-Villalobos Ramírez, an Immortal who was played by Sean Connery (1930-2020) in the 1986 original film. McIntyre portrays Angus MacLeod, the brother of main character Connor (Cavill).
The reboot's cast also includes Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela and Max Zhang. The film is expected to be released in 2027. There is currently no exact release date yet.
