Nasrin Eileen Rapp and Josh Stodel are expecting a baby. As RTL reports, she is already five months pregnant. The couple kept it to themselves until now deciding to go public with the news. On Instagram, they shared that they are becoming mom and dad.
The Bad Boyfriend became a Good Boyfriend
That things would even get to this point was anything but certain after filming the RTL show. "Little spoiler: He has become a Good Boyfriend in my eyes," Nasrin now says in conversation with RTL. "Our relationship looks completely different now. We are stronger, we are very happy. We're becoming parents now and just enjoying the moment. Things couldn't be going better for us right now."
Anyone who followed the show knows just how big this step is for Josh. On camera, he openly stated that the thought of starting his own family literally sent him into panic. He himself grew up without a father and feared that this void might someday repeat itself with his own child.
A conversation that made it click
Nasrin dates the turning point to a scene in the show. "I think the first impulse was definitely in the show. I think during the conversation with Charlotte, when the tears were flowing, that was the point where it clicked for Josh," she tells RTL.
What followed after that took place away from the cameras. Josh sought contact with his father and worked through his own history. "It was a long process over several months," says Nasrin.
In doing so, he realized that his blockage was never about the children, but about the fear of failing as a father. "He also talked very openly about it with his father. And I think that helped him a lot."
"I think he'll be amazing"
Today, Nasrin has no doubts about who she has by her side. "I'm sure that Josh will be the best father for our child that I can imagine, because he has a huge heart," she says. He has left his childhood trauma behind to some extent. She is convinced: "I think he'll be amazing."
