The gangster drama "MobLand: Familie bis aufs Blut" will soon return with its second season. In a first teaser, Paramount+ shows new scenes set to the sounds of The Prodigy classic "Firestarter" while also revealing the German release date: The new episodes will be available starting September 18.
"Old loyalties crumble and new rivals reach for power", according to the plot description for the second season. The three major stars from the opening season return in the new episodes: Tom Hardy (48) can be seen once again as Harry da Souza, while Pierce Brosnan (73) and Helen Mirren (80) reprise their roles as the Harrigans. Paddy Considine (52) and Joanne Froggatt (45), who were already part of the ensemble in the first episodes, are also back.

That "MobLand" would receive a second season was announced nearly a year ago - shortly after the first season was fully released. Recently, however, reports about alleged conflicts surrounding Tom Hardy caused a stir. The actor is also known from "Peaky Blinders", "Mad Max: Fury Road", and the "Venom" films, among others.
In May, reports about tensions on set caused a sensation. An anonymous source claimed to the industry magazine "The Hollywood Reporter" that Hardy had refused to leave his trailer for hours, making the other actors wait. The insider interpreted this as a power play and speculated about possible consequences for Hardy's career. Helen Mirren then publicly stood by her colleague and posted a photo of him on Instagram with the words: "I love you now and forever."
Shortly before that, "Variety" had reported that Hardy was dismissed after filming the second season. According to reports, there was said to be a falling out with producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and other parties involved. At the end of June, however, the industry magazine reported that the actor would return in the event of a third season. Several anonymous sources had confirmed that the differences were settled at a meeting in London. A third season has not been officially announced yet, but given the show's success, it is considered very likely according to the report.
