After landing the lead role in 'Michael,' Jaafar Jackson (30) is now apparently making a big move into the film business. The nephew of Michael Jackson (1958-2009), who played his late uncle in the successful biopic, has reportedly secured a new role according to industry reports.
Jackson will allegedly play a character in the action thriller 'Supermax' alongside Will Smith (57), reports the portal 'Deadline'. Another role will be taken by AnnaSophia Robb (32), with director David Gordon Green (51) set to helm the film. According to 'The Hollywood Reporter', this is another lead role for Jackson.
However, he apparently won't be returning to the big screen with this project. According to previous reports, 'Supermax' will not be released in theaters, but will go directly to the streaming service Prime Video. Details about his role are not known, but it reportedly serves as a pivotal point for the film's plot. 'Supermax' will follow two FBI agents - played by Smith and Robb - who must solve a murder in a maximum-security prison.
First Role After Biopic Record
For Smith, it's one of his biggest films since his Oscar scandal in 2022, when he slapped comedian Chris Rock (61) in the face. For Jackson, it would only be his second film ever. He made his debut as the 'King of Pop' in 'Michael.' Jackson's portrayal of his uncle not only earned him much praise, but also a record.
