Marc Terenzi (47) didn't make it into the upcoming season of "The Voice of Germany". The singer had applied as a contestant for the 16th season of the music show and participated in a Blind Audition, as reported by "Bild" newspaper. Upon request from spot on news, Christoph Körfer, press spokesperson for ProSieben and Sat.1, confirms: "Marc Terenzi applied as a talent for the 16th season of 'The Voice of Germany' and was invited to a Blind Audition."

However, it became clear there "that the participation of a star like Marc doesn't fit with the #TVOG brand core", Körfer explains further. This ends Terenzi's journey after the Blind Auditions. "His performance will not be part of a show in the fall." In conclusion, he states: "We wish Marc Terenzi all the best for his continued musical career."

Participation reportedly controversial

According to "Bild", Terenzi's potential participation was reportedly controversial internally. Individual coaches allegedly expressed criticism.

For Terenzi, the participation would have been another step in his TV comeback. The US singer had increasingly disappeared from the spotlight in recent years. For an extended period, he struggled with alcohol and substance abuse problems, in addition to various legal issues. In 2024, he checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic. Subsequently, he attempted a fresh start in Mallorca. In 2025, he participated in "Promi Big Brother", but had to leave the container early.

These coaches are searching for singing talents

"The Voice of Germany" will enter its 16th season in the fall of 2026. As in the previous year, Shirin David, Nico Santos, Rea Garvey, as well as Michi Beck and Smudo from Die Fantastischen Vier will compete as coaches for the talents. For the first time, Melissa Khalaj will host the music show together with Matthias Killing, who is replacing Thore Schölermann. A start date for the new season has not yet been announced.
