Lindsay Lohan (40) is returning to her signature look: The US actress is sporting red hair again. Previously, she had traded her natural hair color for a light blonde. Now she's showing off her new old hairstyle on Instagram and comments on the pictures with just a red heart. In her Instagram Story, she sets the images to the song Cherry on the Edge.

Her fans are thrilled about the return to red hair. "The most legendary redhead in pop culture," one user writes in the comments. "Yay! The red hair is back," another comment reads. Another person gushes: "I love this hair color! Every color looks amazing on you, but your natural hair color is simply stunning!"

She Went Through Numerous Hair Transformations

Moviegoers first saw Lohan with red hair in 1998 during her film debut in Ein Zwilling kommt selten allein. She also wore her mane in her natural hair color in the cult comedy Girls Club - Vorsicht bissig!. In Freaky Friday - Ein voll verrückter Freitag, she appeared with blonde highlights in her red hairstyle. Throughout her career, the actress then changed her hair color multiple times - from reddish-brown to dark brown to blonde. In March 2025, she finally surprised everyone with light blonde hair.

On screen, Lohan also recently took a trip into the past. Together with Jamie Lee Curtis (67), she stood in front of the camera more than two decades after the original for the film sequel Freakier Friday. Her next project is a series adaptation of Sophie Stava's thriller Count My Lies. In the Hulu production, she stars alongside Shailene Woodley (34) and Kit Harington (39). A release date has not yet been announced.
