Baking and cooking influencer Sally Özcan (37) provides insight into a crisis. In an interview with RTL, she reports that she faced major financial problems in the past. At one point, she asked herself: "Okay, do I give up everything now and let it all fall apart or do I keep fighting?" The entrepreneur behind "Sallys Welt" witnessed how "almost my entire existence was slipping away because I had really hardcore debts".
The reason for the financial trouble: "Unfortunately, I listened to other people too often and kept myself out of my finances for a long time." She dealt less with topics like salary negotiations.
"That really hurts"
What was disappointing for her was that she had been taken advantage of by people from her personal circle. "It was never business partners or customers." Instead, people from her "inner circle" had exploited her - "and that really hurts", Özcan admits.
She has drawn consequences from this experience. "Now I educate myself much more too. Now I had to grow into it myself and finally say: 'That's right, I was actually always the entrepreneur and should have taken responsibility and made the decisions myself from the beginning.'"
First child with new partner on the way
Sally Özcan has now overcome the difficult time. Her private life is also going well: In January 2026, she introduced her fans to her new boyfriend for the first time, and in July she announced her pregnancy publicly. "Our family is growing and in just a few months our two daughters will get to meet their little sibling", she shared. For her, it's the third child, but the first together with her current partner, whose privacy she wants to protect.
The two daughters are from her marriage to ex-husband Murat. After 16 years of marriage, Özcan surprisingly announced their separation in November 2023.
