Lil Wayne (43) did not show up at his own concert. The American rapper was supposed to perform on June 30 in Bangor, Maine. While 2 Chainz (48) according to "Bangor Daily News" opened the show as planned, fans waited in vain for the headliner. Even 15 minutes after the scheduled start time, there was no sign of Lil Wayne. Then it was announced: He will not perform. According to reports, a DJ initially kept the audience entertained with music before the event was finally ended. There was no explanation at first.

Now the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., apologized on Instagram for the missed performance. "My Maine fans, I'm so sorry ... The show is rescheduled for July 28", he wrote in a story. The tickets already purchased will be valid for the rescheduled concert, and ticket holders will receive further information via email. The 43-year-old also emphasized: "Without you I am nothing. I can't wait to come back and give you the show you deserve." He left open why he had not appeared at the concert.

No-show right at the tour kickoff

Particularly bitter about the concert postponement: Lil Wayne was supposed to celebrate the kickoff of his "20+ Years of Carter Classics" tour in Maine. His next concert will now take place on July 2 in Saratoga Springs in New York State. Until October 2026, he will still be performing on stage in numerous cities across the USA, celebrating his "Tha Carter" album series. The first work in the collection was released in 2004. Last year he already released "Tha Carter VI" - and went on tour with it.

He apparently extended this tour due to high demand under the banner "20+ Years of Carter Classics". He is accompanied on the tour by rappers 2 Chainz and The Game (46).
