The World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico is finally checked off, and Laura Wontorra (37) has headed to where she loves to unwind most: Marbella. On Wednesday, the sports presenter shared on Instagram several snapshots from her vacation in Spain, including a selfie together with her boyfriend Riccardo Basile (34).
In the latest photos, Wontorra poses in a black top, an asymmetrical light-colored skirt, high heels, sunglasses, and with a Chanel bag in the Spanish sun. In the couple photos, she snuggles up to her partner, whom she is currently showing her "happy place".
She has a special connection with Marbella: Since the late 1990s, her father Jörg Wontorra (77) has been living in Marbella, and his daughter regularly visits him in the land of the newly crowned world champions.
A couple for just a few months
Sparks reportedly flew between Wontorra and Basile in February 2026. At the end of May, "Bild" first reported on the relationship, and at the end of June, the two made it official with a mirror selfie high above the streets of New York. Since then, the two sports journalists have been sharing photos together regularly.
Wontorra had been married to professional soccer player Simon Zoller since 2016; in November 2022, the couple announced their separation. Basile was also in a relationship with former "Bachelor" winner Clea-Lacy Juhn until 2022.
From the World Cup studio to the salon chair
A day before the couple photos, Wontorra had already posted another update from Marbella that generated just as much buzz. In a short clip, she showed off her new hairstyle.
Instead of the longer hair that the presenter wore almost daily on camera for MagentaTV during the World Cup, she now sports a sleek collarbone bob that reaches just above the collarbone.
Laura Wontorra won't have much time for palm trees, pools, and couple time, though. The Bundesliga starts its new season at the end of August, and by then at the latest, she'll be back in front of the camera for DAZN.
