James Franco (48) claims to have evidence for the existence of aliens. He's not crazy, he says. However, posts on a TikTok account seem like a wild tall tale. The most likely explanation is presumably that the matter is simply a form of guerilla marketing for a new project. The actor had virtually disappeared from the dream factory in recent years after serious allegations were made against him.

James Franco's Alien Account on TikTok?

However, the suspicion of a promotional campaign cannot be entirely dismissed. It's striking that the account initially followed exclusively the official TikTok presence of the already-filmed Franco comedy Love Meets in the Sunshine and its director Christian Guiton. Guiton also addressed the alleged alien encounter in his own videos. However, the director denied any connection with the marketing of his film.

In recent weeks, quite a few TikTok users were wondering what Franco was up to on the platform. An account appeared under the username jamesfranco2319. In a first video, which was published on June 3, the actor explains that it really is him. The clip is real and not created by AI. He doesn't want to promote anything, Franco says, before whispering that he created the account because some darn serious stuff is going on. He can't say too much yet, but those who follow him will see crazy stuff in the future. Franco himself may seem just as crazy, but that's not the case, he emphasizes.

Over the following weeks, he published more and more videos. On June 15, for example, Franco talked about having seen a hand and something with glowing eyes in his garage. Later he claimed that They had hacked his account and that someone was trying to prevent him from making everything public. On July 13, however, he planned to post evidence. Indeed, another clip appeared yesterday, Monday - the most recent one so far. The day has come, Franco explains in it. I promised you that I would expose something because I found something.

The actor opens a laptop on camera, on which he plays excerpts from an alleged surveillance video. The footage shows a humanoid being that looks the way one typically imagines aliens in Hollywood. The supposed alien peers out from behind a tree and spies through the window. That's probably enough said, Franco suggests, before a text appears at the end of the video: There will be much more footage soon! It's going to get really crazy!!!

What's the name of the movie, Franco?

In the comments, many users agreed that these are not real recordings. The material shown doesn't look particularly convincing; it's obviously advertising. Franco is still a great actor, because she herself would have had to laugh at this revelation, one user notes. Another person asks directly: What's the name of the movie, Franco?

Whether the videos are actually part of an unusual advertising campaign for Love Meets in the Sunshine is still not confirmed. It's equally possible that Franco is simply fooling the account's now more than 950,000 followers. It also remains unclear whether the unverified account is actually operated by him. According to the report, an inquiry by the industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter to a spokesperson for the actor remained unanswered.

Franco largely withdrew from Hollywood after five women accused him of inappropriate behavior in 2018 and two women filed a lawsuit against him in 2019. The civil lawsuit stated that the actor had pressured them and other women to undress or film intimate scenes. Franco had the allegations rejected through a lawyer. In June 2021, it was reported that he had agreed to pay $2.2 million to settle the lawsuit. Since then, Franco has not participated in major Hollywood productions.
