Chadbon, who was born in the city of Luton north of London, was 80 years old according to the report.

Tom Chadbon had a decades-long career in front of television and film cameras - especially on British television. After first appearances in the late 1960s, roles in international productions followed.
Chadbon appeared in the "Doctor Who" story "City of Death", which first aired in 1979. One episode of the story attracted more than 16 million viewers to their screens according to the BBC and is considered the most-watched episode to this day.
Later, Chadbon appeared in additional episodes of the sci-fi hit "Doctor Who" as well as in individual episodes of other internationally known series such as "Inspector Barnaby" and "Father Brown".
