Jacques (11) and Gabriella of Monaco (11) joined their parents, Prince Albert II (68) and Princess Charlène (48), in opening the celebrations for St. John's Day. From the Prince's Palace, the family watched the lighting of the traditional fire, the highlight of this ancient tradition. During the musical performances at the festival, the princely family reportedly greeted spectators repeatedly, reports the magazine "Point de Vue". The festival in the principality also includes a parade and a church service.
Gabriella matches her outfit to her mother's look
During the balcony appearance of the princely couple and their children, all eyes were once again on the twins. Gabriella of Monaco wore a cream-colored, sleeveless dress with floral embroidery. The eleven-year-old's outfit matched perfectly with her mother's light-colored dress. Gabriella's brother Jacques had chosen a navy blue suit with a white shirt, almost identical to his father's. However, unlike his son, the Prince wore a tie.
The two children, who celebrated their eleventh birthday last December, have been regularly accompanying their parents to public events for some time now. In March, they were present when the princely couple welcomed Pope Leo XIV (70) to Monaco.
Children are being prepared for their roles
Prince Albert and Princess Charlène have been preparing both of them for their future roles from an early age, particularly Jacques, the hereditary prince: "As parents, our goal is to guide Jacques with patience and love, without rushing things. He is a very curious boy, full of kindness and goodwill", Charlène revealed to the newspaper "Monaco-Matin" in 2025.
The princely couple's children were born on December 10, 2014. At 5:04 p.m., Gabriella Thérèse Marie Grimaldi was born, followed two minutes later by Jacques Honoré Rainier Grimaldi. Due to Monaco's line of succession, Jacques is his father's successor.
