Did Duchess Meghan (45) chat about her recent visit to King Charles (77) at a celebrity event? That's what US TV star Martha Stewart (85) is now claiming, at least. The lifestyle icon told "People" magazine that she recently had dinner with Meghan: "We were both guests at a dinner party in California."
Shortly before, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry (41) had returned from their European trip. During a stay in Great Britain, the Sussexes, together with their children Prince Archie (7) and Princess Lilibet (5), visited Harry's father Charles and his wife Queen Camilla (79) at the royal estate in Highgrove.
"I know she talked about it"
Martha Stewart revealed about her encounter with Meghan: "She had just gotten back from the palace. I didn't really exchange more than a few words with her, but I know she talked about it."
The 85-year-old was also asked what she thinks about Meghan "encroaching" on her territory with the Netflix show "With Love, Meghan". "When you're an actress, it's difficult to first become a princess and then go from being a princess to a household guru on a television show", she responded. "It somehow doesn't fit together."
Trouble at the palace?
The fact that Duchess Meghan may have chatted about her meeting with the royal couple is unlikely to go down well at the palace. The meeting in Highgrove, which reportedly lasted about an hour, allegedly took place under the condition of the strictest confidentiality.
After their departure from the royal household in 2020, Harry and Meghan escalated the conflict with the royal family through revelations in Harry's autobiography "Spare", in interviews, and the Netflix documentary "Harry & Meghan". The July meeting is seen by British media reports as a possible sign of reconciliation between Prince Harry and his family in Great Britain. King Charles had last seen his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet in 2022.
