Romeo Beckham (23) is taking the leap from model to actor. The son of soccer star David Beckham (51) and designer Victoria Beckham (52) is making his screen debut in the tennis romance Forty Love, as reported by the industry publication Variety. Studiocanal also released the first images.

What Forty Love Is About

According to the report, the story centers on Sacha Gallo, a tennis superstar who is training with his father for a major title in Paris. The appearance of a charismatic new rival - played by Beckham - then calls into question everything Sacha thought he knew about competition, ambition, and himself. "For the first time, he faces an opponent of a completely different nature - love," reads the synopsis. "A force as intoxicating as it is unsettling - and far more dangerous than anything he has ever encountered on the court."

Starring alongside Beckham are Paul Kircher (Animal Kingdom), Guillaume Canet (Sink or Swim), and Benjamin Voisin (The Stranger). Catherine Deneuve has a cameo appearance. The film score is by 070 Shake and Johan Lenox. The screenplay was written by Carlotti together with Gaëlle Macé, whose works also include Rebecca Zlotowski's A Private Life starring Jodie Foster.

In French Cinemas Starting Late November

The film is directed by renowned fashion photographer Pierre-Ange Carlotti, for whom this is his directorial debut. The film was produced by Hugo Sélignac and Paco de Bary at Chi-Fou-Mi Productions, a Mediawan company, co-produced by Studiocanal and Manna Studios. Sélignac describes the film as a "sensual, romantic and deeply moving romantic fable and coming-of-age story" about "the demands of elite sports and everything that lies beneath the surface." Studiocanal is also handling worldwide distribution and will release Forty Love in France on November 25.
