Music fans will celebrate their favorite artists at the Highfield Festival one last time in 2026. The organizers announced via Instagram that they would be "taking a creative break in 2027". The decision was difficult for them. Nevertheless, they had to share: "After almost 30 unforgettable years, the Highfield Festival will take place for the last time this year." They called for a "final dance". Whether and how things will continue afterward remained open. "We don't yet know exactly what comes next", they wrote.
As the reason for the hiatus, organizers cited changing "framework conditions for festivals". Passion alone is not enough to pull off a festival of this size. During the break, the team wants to work on a new concept.
Fans showed disappointment at the news, as seen in the comments. Artists such as rapper Casper (43) and Donots also reacted with concern.
Final Festival with Kraftklub and Marteria
This year's festival is scheduled to take place as planned from August 13 to 16 at Störmthaler Lake near Großpösna in the Leipzig district. Headliners include Kraftklub, Marteria (43) and Beatsteaks. Other artists performing include 01099, SDP, Zartmann, Giant Rooks, Querbeat and Feine Sahne Fischfilet.
Up to 35,000 visitors attend the Highfield Festival annually. The music event made its debut in 1998 - back then at the Hohenfelden reservoir near Erfurt. Since 2010, the festival has been held at Störmthaler Lake, combining rock, indie, hip-hop, punk and pop.
