Good news for racing fans: Following broadcasts from Monaco and Barcelona, RTL together with Sky Sport will show four more Grand Prix weekends on free-to-air TV this season, each with qualifying and race. On five additional weekends, the Cologne-based private broadcaster will air individual sessions, either qualifying or the sprint race. On all other race weekends, Sky Sport's coverage of qualifying or the sprint race will run on RTL+, as announced in a press release on Monday.

Two Teams in the Pit Lane

RTL took over from Sky on June 1st and broadcast qualifying and the race from Monaco. For the upcoming races as well, the on-air teams from both broadcasters will stand side by side in the pit lane. At RTL, the proven team led by host Florian König will guide viewers through the broadcasts, joined by commentator Heiko Wasser, experts Günther Steiner and Christian Danner, as well as track reporters Kai Ebel and Alessa-Luisa Naujoks. For Sky Sport, host Peter Hardenacke, commentator Sascha Roos, experts Ralf Schumacher and Timo Glock, as well as track reporter Sandra Baumgartner will be in action.

Frank Robens, Executive Vice President Sports at RTL Deutschland, is quoted saying: "The combination of familiar personalities from RTL and Sky unites different perspectives, years of experience and comprehensive Formula 1 expertise with clear added value for the fans."

The Upcoming Dates

Specifically, RTL will show the following race weekends: July 18/19 Belgian Grand Prix (Spa-Francorchamps),
August 22/23 Dutch Grand Prix (Zandvoort), September 12/13 Spanish Grand Prix (Madrid) and November 21/22 Las Vegas Grand Prix. The additional free-to-air sessions on RTL are on July 4 British Grand Prix (Qualifying), July 25 Hungarian Grand Prix (Qualifying), September 5 Italian Grand Prix (Monza / Qualifying), October 10 Singapore Grand Prix (Sprint) and October 24 United States Grand Prix (Austin / Qualifying).

From a sporting perspective, the season promises excitement: Following the biggest rule change in years, Formula 1 is considered as unpredictable as rarely before. 19-year-old Kimi Antonelli in particular is causing a sensation, shaking up the field in the Mercedes. Most recently in Barcelona, however, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton celebrated his first Ferrari victory.
