The succession for Detective Chief Councilor Helmut Zangel, played by Christoph Süß (58), on the ZDF crime series "München Mord" has apparently been settled. According to the "Münchner Merkur", cabaret artist, host, and actress Eva Karl Faltermeier (43) will join the team of "München Mord" effective immediately. According to the newspaper, producer Sven Burgemeister (TV60Film) confirmed this upon inquiry from "Merkur" and "tz".
The 43-year-old from Regensburg will slip into the role of Detective Chief Councilor Dr. Linda Hösl and thus becomes the new boss of investigators Angelika Flierl (Bernadette Heerwagen, 49) and Harald Neuhauser (Marcus Mittermeier, 56).
The first episode featuring Eva Karl Faltermeier is scheduled to air on August 22. It will also feature colleague Ludwig Schaller, portrayed by actor Alexander Held (1958-2026), who passed away in May at the age of 67 after a brief illness.

Two episodes with Faltermeier have already been filmed, and according to the report, the next shoot with her is scheduled for fall. Her predecessor, cabaret artist, television host, and actor Christoph Süß, had bid farewell to his role as Detective Chief Councilor Helmut Zangel for personal reasons. The farewell episode featuring the crime series' audience favorite already aired in January. "München Mord" has been on ZDF's programming since 2014.
