Right in the middle of the ongoing World Cup, streaming service Joyn is launching a new dating format. "Eden - Du bezahlst für jede Lüge" was initially announced for summer 2026. Now it's confirmed: The dating show will be available starting Thursday, June 25. This was announced by Joyn. The dating show with 20 episodes will follow later on free TV: ProSieben will broadcast "Eden" starting Thursday, July 16, weekly at 10:20 PM.

For Every Lie, the Prize Money Shrinks

The concept combines romance with suspense: 13 singles move into "paradise" to find true love. Only those who form a couple at the end have a chance at up to 100,000 euros. The catch lies in the lie detector, which the contestants must regularly face. Every untruth costs the group 1,000 euros from the shared pot.

The questions are uncomfortable. "Are your feelings real?", "Did you secretly kiss someone else yesterday?" or "Is getting to know someone just a game to you?" are some of the tests. This creates the central dilemma: Those who fib to save a fresh romance drain the communal fund. Those who remain honest preserve the prize money - but risk immediate elimination from the date.

Singles from Germany and Austria

The participants are between 23 and 33 years old and come from various cities in Germany and Austria. Several already bring reality show experience: Charline (29) was on "Temptation Island" in 2023, Roberto (26) in 2024, and Tarek (28) in 2025.

When asked about his motivation, Roberto from Ludwigshafen am Rhein delivers a quote that sets the tone for the show: "I love adventure, I love women, and I love money." Two examples from the group show how liberally truth is handled in everyday dating. Marvin (23) from Bochum turned a dog into an escape helper and names as his most legendary dating lie: "That I have a dachshund at home who can't fall asleep without me." Phillip (26) from Vienna, on the other hand, relied on a different dating claim: "That I'm still a virgin."
