Following the secret dream wedding of Taylor Swift (36) and Travis Kelce (36), the designer of her wedding dress is now providing insights into the creative process for the first time. Jonathan Anderson (41), Creative Director of Dior, describes his collaboration with the singer as particularly personal - and emotional.

"It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends", Anderson told industry magazine "WWD". "Designing someone's wedding dress is something emotional."

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce in Dior

According to a statement from Swift's representative, both the singer and NFL star Travis Kelce wore custom-made looks by Christian Dior Haute Couture at their wedding on July 3rd at New York's Madison Square Garden, which Anderson designed in close coordination with the couple. For the designer, it was also the first couture wedding dress he created for an internationally renowned star.

The wedding looks were completed with custom-made shoes by Christian Louboutin, and Swift also wore jewelry by Cartier. The designs were created in Dior's Haute Couture ateliers on Avenue Montaigne in Paris.

Just a few days after the wedding, Anderson presented his new Fall/Winter 2026/27 collection during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, which also featured several bridal looks. However, a photo of Taylor Swift's actual wedding dress has not yet been released.

In the months leading up to the wedding, Taylor Swift had repeatedly worn Dior - including a yellow Lady Dior handbag during an outing with her father Scott Swift, and later a black Dior bag at a dinner in New York. In retrospect, fans see these as possible hints of the close collaboration with the French fashion house.

Taylor Swift reportedly walked down the aisle to her own song

New details about the ceremony itself have also since emerged. As "Us Weekly" reports, Taylor Swift walked down the extra-long aisle at Madison Square Garden to a string quartet version of her 2008 hit "Love Story". Both she and Travis Kelce are said to have been very emotional during the exchange of vows.

"The vows told the story of how they met and their journey together to this moment", the magazine quoted a source. Another source revealed that Kelce even shed more tears than Swift. In their personal wedding vows, both shared private anecdotes that even many of the wedding guests had never heard before.

The wedding took place at the elaborately transformed Madison Square Garden, which was turned into an enchanted garden for the evening with roses, lush greenery, and a forest of tall trees. Taylor Swift's brother Austin served as "Man of Honor", and Travis Kelce's brother Jason as best man. The ceremony was officiated by actor Adam Sandler.
