This week on the dating show "Die Bachelors" (RTL+), a decision is made that changes the course of the show. Already in the previous episode, Sebastian's (33) emotional turmoil had become apparent: He didn't hand out any roses and left the remaining women in uncertainty. Even then, there was suspicion that Nadja (28) might be the reason for the missing rose ceremony.
"I've been thinking a bit since the last rose ceremony. I'm now relatively clear about my decision", Sebastian explains in an interview in the current episode before entering the candidates' villa. "Whether this will be good for everyone in there, I don't know exactly. But it's the decision I can stand behind."
Sebastian finally reveals to the candidates what's going on inside him: "I didn't think that feelings for Nadja could develop so quickly in me." The women had repeatedly asked him whether he was still willing to get to know others - and he had always said yes. However, last week he realized that his feelings were stronger "than I wanted to admit", the rose cavalier explains. "I know that these are real feelings from me. It wouldn't be fair to you and not honest to myself to continue getting to know you. That's why I would say goodbye to you."
Relief and joint plans for the future
The rest of "Team Sebastian", Katalina (24), Lia (25), Franzi (31), and Josi (32), take the decision largely in stride. "Of course, you wished that for yourself, to be able to feel these emotions", Katalina explains to the "Bachelor". "But what's much more beautiful is seeing as an outsider what's possible. We realized feelings can develop. How Nadja talks about you, her eyes light up. When you're with her, you smile. It's wonderful. We all wish for something like that in our lives someday."
Josi also knows: "We wouldn't have been able to compete with that anymore." Franzi, on the other hand, is annoyed that Sebastian apparently made his decision long before. "I just feel a bit screwed over because my time is very precious. I also have pride and have things to do at home."
Nadja, meanwhile, is floating on cloud nine: "This is the most beautiful confirmation a woman can get", the Stuttgart native raves about Sebastian's decision. "It's already such an intimate relationship. It feels like he's actually already my boyfriend." About their joint future, she says: "The way it feels now, it feels right. Then nothing would stand in the way of a wedding someday."
It was a "massive relief" to speak the truth, Sebastian admits. "I would say that I'm also a bit in love, already now." He assures his chosen one: "I get butterflies when I sit next to you. I've never had a woman touch me so honestly before."
The prospective mother-in-law and a dream date
Since the Düsseldorf native's rose journey is happening in fast-forward mode, one encounter cannot be missed: Mom Sabine sits down with him and Nadja in Cape Town. And there too, his chosen one scores points. "She was so relaxed, so cool, so genuine and authentic. How she handled the situation really impressed me", the athlete admits. Sabine also gives her blessing: "I see you both and see that you're in love, so I don't need to know much." She believes that Nadja is right for her son. "I want to see him happy and that's what I saw today." The lovebirds now head off on a dream date to Namibia.
And what happens with the second one in the lineup? At the rose ceremony, which Tim (35) has to manage alone for the first time without Sebastian by his side, he chooses Kim (32), Miri (28), Vivien (28), Natalie (29), and Chiara (33) as his top five. After a group date and a kissing date with Miri, the remaining "Bachelor" doesn't seem as sure of himself as his colleague. "It's individually beautiful with each woman. I'll continue exactly as I did before." Sebastian wishes his now former roommate that he "finds exactly what I may have already found".
