David Schumacher (24) and his wife Vivien (25) are expecting their first child together. The couple made the pregnancy public with a joint post on Instagram. "Love made us two. Life is making us three", they wrote.

The accompanying photo shows a mirror standing in the grass in front of a mountain backdrop, reflecting the couple's wedding picture. The word "Baby" is written on the glass in cursive script. In front of it lie a teddy bear, a cream-colored blanket, and a pair of knitted baby shoes. Among the first well-wishers is Davina Geiss (23).

Wedding in February

For the couple, this is already the next major milestone within just a few months. Only in February had the race car driver and the Hungarian-born Vivien gotten married in the presence of their families and closest friends and made their wedding public on Instagram. "Officially Mr & Mrs", they wrote at the time alongside pictures showing the bride in a white tulle dress and the groom in a light-colored suit.

This was preceded by a marriage proposal in the Maldives in November 2025. Hundreds of rose petals in the sand, a heart made of flowers, and an illuminated "Marry Me" sign were part of the staging at the time, as shown in another Instagram post. "She said yes. The ocean witnessed our love, and the sunset sealed our promise", wrote the son of Ralf Schumacher (51) at the time.

Met through a mutual friend

David Schumacher and his wife have been a couple for around eight years. They met through a mutual friend, as the nephew of Michael Schumacher (57) told in an interview with RTL in 2024. It was a perfect match from the start and still is, Schumacher said.

Motorsport was a connecting element from the beginning, as Vivien also sat behind the wheel professionally. That's why they always have a topic they can talk about, Schumacher told the network.

David is from Ralf Schumacher's marriage (2001 to 2015) with Cora Schumacher (49); the couple had been separated since 2009. In early June, the 51-year-old married his partner Étienne Bousquet-Cassagne (36). David stood by his father's side as best man at the wedding.
