The VOX cooking show "Das perfekte Dinner"
"Das perfekte Dinner" first premiered in its current form on VOX on March 6, 2006. The show also exists in other countries, such as in Great Britain under the title "Come Dine With Me" and in France as "Un Dîner Presque Parfait".
Five amateur cooks from one city or region take on the cooking challenge and want to score points with their menu among the other contestants. In each episode, one of them becomes the host, and at the end, the guests rate the evening and award points from 0 to 10. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the week takes home the prize money.
In addition to the cooks, narrator Daniel Werner, who has been part of the show from the beginning, is the heart of the program, which was awarded Best Cooking Show at the German Television Awards in 2007. With his humorous and sometimes sarcastic remarks from off-screen, he carries the show.
Recipes for individual dishes from the cooking show are offered by VOX on its website.
