The VOX cooking show "Das perfekte Dinner"
"Das perfekte Dinner" launched in its current form for the first time on March 6, 2006 on VOX. The show also exists in other countries, for example in Great Britain under the title "Come Dine With Me" and in France as "Un Dîner Presque Parfait".
Five amateur chefs from one city or region face the cooking challenge and want to score points with the other contestants with their menu. In each episode, one of them becomes the host, and at the end the guests rate the evening and award points from 0 to 10. Whoever has the highest score at the end of the week takes the prize money home.
In addition to the chefs, narrator Daniel Werner, who has been there from the beginning, is the heart of the show, which was awarded as best cooking show at the German Television Awards in 2007. With his humorous and sometimes sardonic remarks from off-screen, he helps carry the show.
Recipes for individual dishes from the cooking show are offered by the network VOX on its website.
