Actor Felix von Jascheroff (43) will be leaving the daily soap "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" (Mondays to Fridays, 7:40 PM, RTL and in advance on RTL+) next year after 25 years. In a joint interview with his wife Sophie with the network, he talks about the change at his own request and emphasizes that he is full of anticipation for the future.
"How things will continue after that remains to be seen"
For now, however, the 43-year-old will continue to stand in front of the camera as John Bachmann in Babelsberg for several more months. "How things will continue after that remains to be seen", says Felix von Jascheroff. He faces the career change with remarkable composure, because after all, changes are simply part of life. Nevertheless, he emphasizes: "After 25 years with the series, this is naturally a huge step, and I'm looking forward to everything that's to come."
His Sophie, to whom he just said 'I do' again at a non-denominational wedding ceremony in June, adds: "Of course there are moments when we talk about whether it's the right decision. But we are absolutely convinced of it." She describes her husband as "incredibly ambitious". When he sets his mind to something, "he works for it until it works out". Of course, nobody knows exactly what the future will bring. "But if you don't try, you'll never find out. It will still be strange when he's no longer driving to Babelsberg every day soon."
A baby? "Never say never"
Felix von Jascheroff is certain that the farewell will be "emotional". "25 years at GZSZ shape a person - I grew up there and experienced an incredible amount." At the moment, however, the anticipation "clearly" prevails. Because he firmly believes "that you only get new opportunities if you also have the courage to leave familiar paths".
What happens next is apparently still open. The couple is looking at "a completely blank sheet of paper. That's incredibly exciting." The actor reveals, however, that the couple's biggest dream is to emigrate - "to put down completely new roots in another country at some point and embark on a whole new adventure". Does that also include a baby? When asked about offspring, Sophie responds with a laugh: "Never say never".
Felix von Jascheroff seems to be keeping a Plan B open - a return to the series. "I've already had two GZSZ breaks. Maybe this time it's not a goodbye forever either", he says, adding: "Who knows what the future holds!"
