From modeling campaign to the big screen: Apple Martin (22), daughter of Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow (53) and Coldplay singer Chris Martin (49), is stepping in front of the camera for her feature film debut. The 22-year-old is taking on a role in Nancy Meyers' new film Paris Paramount. Now, initial details about the project are becoming known.
Photos reportedly taken on Thursday on the set in Los Angeles, according to Page Six, show the aspiring actress in an orange cardigan and wide-cut jeans and leave little doubt about whose daughter is currently shooting her first scenes: The resemblance to her famous mother is striking.
A Set Full of Familiar Faces
Among those acting alongside Martin is Owen Wilson, and with him, a curious circle closes. Wilson and Paltrow already stood together in front of the camera in 2001 for Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums. Around the same time as those shoots, Paltrow was also in a relationship with Owen's brother Luke (54) for a while.
According to the report, the rest of the ensemble includes Rich Sommer, Erin Doherty, Tony Hale, Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, and Beverly D'Angelo. Which character Apple Martin is exactly portraying has so far been kept under wraps by the production. Little has emerged about the content of Paris Paramount so far anyway. Director Nancy Meyers revealed on Instagram in 2023 merely that it's about a group of people making a film and about the magic and mystery of what we do. The theatrical release is expected in December 2027.
She Already Got a Taste of Acting in a Series
Martin is not a complete newcomer in front of the camera, however. While Paris Paramount is her first major acting project, in March she already completed a guest appearance in the HBO series Rooster alongside lead actor Steve Carell. The 22-year-old only finished her studies at Vanderbilt University in May. In addition to acting, Apple Martin is already working successfully as a model and has been featured for the fashion house Chloé, among others.
