Former "DSDS" winner Mark Medlock (47) wants to return to the sunny spot in the charts. He aims to achieve this with his new album "Back into the Sun", from which he released the title single of the same name on June 12. The entire record was created "after a phase of creative development" and contains both new and familiar songs by the artist, according to a press release.
The title track "Back into the Sun" consequently provides the first taste of the album and exemplifies the positive vibes it aims to convey. According to the announcement, the musical mix contains pop, Latin, and dance elements intended to provide the perfect soundtrack for summer. The album will be released on August 14 of this year and contains a total of twelve tracks.
A stage comeback is also planned
But Medlock didn't just celebrate a comeback in the recording studio. Via Instagram, his manager Markus Krampe (55) announced at the end of April that the 2007 "DSDS" winner would be returning to the stage. "Now I can finally tell you. I am incredibly proud to bring this incredibly talented ray of sunshine back to Germany's stages after more than a decade [...]. I'm looking forward to our journey together."
Shortly afterward, Mark Medlock personally reached out, overwhelmed by the reactions, to his followers on Instagram: "First, digest everything and go shopping. You're all totally crazy. I never thought so many people would be happy that I'm going back on stage", he writes alongside a photo showing him beaming in a car. Markus Krampe now has the job with the stages in hand and his new producer has to deliver, he adds.
However, one thing is also certain for him: Dieter Bohlen (72), who once made him a star, will no longer be part of this chapter. Until 2011, Medlock and the pop titan had worked closely together before both sides amicably parted ways. Today, not much remains of their former successful partnership. "I have no contact with Dieter anymore today", Medlock told the "Bild" newspaper.
The dates for the "Back into the Sun - Sommer Tour": June 13 (Oberhausen, Inselfieber), June 27 (Cologne, Rainbowfestival), and September 5 (Hockenheim, Glücksgefühle).
