Finally, Prince Harry (38) no longer has to cheer without his sweetheart: since Tuesday (September 12), Duchess Meghan (42) has also arrived in Düsseldorf, where the sixth edition of the Invictus Games has been taking place for several days. After the couple attended a first event away from the sporting competitions shortly after Meghan's arrival, they now plunged into the fray together on the grandstand.
Together, the Sussexes watched a wheelchair basketball game between Australia and Ukraine. Pictures show the two exuberantly cheering, eagerly cheering and chatting with the surrounding fans. Shots, which are making the rounds on social media, show Harry and Meghan's full body effort. A small drop of bitterness: this only lasted about 20 minutes, after which they left the stands again.
This is why Meghan is only now on site
On September 12, Duchess Meghan commented on her slightly late arrival at the 'Friends @ Home Event' in Dusseldorf: "It's so special to be here, and I'm sorry I was a little late to the party," quotes 'People'. So she had to take care of "the little ones" - son Archie (4) and daughter Lilibet (2) - a little longer than initially planned.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will remain in Germany until September 16. Then the big closing ceremony will take place. It is not yet clear exactly what role the 42-year-old will play there. Initially, it was said that she would "personally moderate" the stories of the war-disabled competitors and those of their families there.
However, this information has since disappeared from the Invictus Games website. Instead, it says: "German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will thank the participants for their commitment in a speech. Hadnet Tesfai will then moderate a segment in which competitors will tell touching stories about what home means to them."
